THE 15 MINUTE FACE LIFT – yes that is what it is called. Not only can you change the shape of your eyes, but it is also known to make you look younger.

If you have over plucked your eyebrows for a long time then you are not likely to get the desired effect that you want without make-up
If you have very full brows, then it is wiser to take a little off at a time, you will be surprised how different you will look even to tidy them up will make the whole world of difference.

It is always good practice to brush your brows, they look so much neater and a more defined shape when you do. Comb the hairs upward and trim the long hairs with small, curved scissors. Then comb downward, trimming the remaining long hairs.

To determine where the brow should begin, hold a ruler parallel to your nose so that it intersects the inner corner of the eye and continues up to the brow. Mark the spot where it hits the brow with a white eyeliner pencil.

If your eyes are close-set, make the space between the brows a little wider. If your eyes are wide-set, start the brows a little closer together.

To determine where the highest point of the arch should be, hold the ruler from the edge of your nostril on a diagonal past the outer edge of the eye’s iris and on to the eyebrow. Mark the spot.

To determine where the brow should end, hold the ruler from the edge of your nostril on a diagonal past the outer corner of the eye and on to the eyebrow. Mark the spot.

Connect the dots in a gentle arch, and use this curve as a guide when shaping the brows.

Use wax or tweezers to pluck the hairs from between the brows. Use tweezers, which are more precise, for the trickier task of removing hairs from under the brows. Aim for a smoothly arched brow that tapers slightly at the outer ends.

To give the eyebrow a little more emphasis, fill in any gaps. Or extend the ends by applying brow powder with an angled brow brush like hair strokes or have them permanently pigmented like hairs. Do not fill in a solid line, brow powder is the next best thing to permanent brows. For a natural look, use short, light strokes, not a single line.

Choose a color that is a shade lighter than your natural brow color. If you have changed your hair color, use a similar shade on your brows for a more natural look.

To fix the hairs in place, use an eyebrow gel or mousse. The ones that come with a mascara-type wand are especially easy to apply.
