Congratulations! You are engaged, making all of the planning details to get ready for the big day, and it comes down to how you want to look in your wedding photos, and on the day of! Bridal grooming has been mentioned as a part of the partner’s most important details when it comes to wedding planning, like everything else. You are thinking of planning to hire a hairstylist, or makeup artist, or getting a manicure and pedicure, but you realize, the option of permanent makeup may be the best option for you before your wedding day.
While we cannot plan how the weather conditions will be, whether you may or may not cry on your wedding day when you see your significant other, you can plan that your makeup will look flawless and stay put with permanent makeup.
When it comes to booking your appointment before your wedding day, you may be thinking the closer to the day the better; however, you should have your makeup completely healed and even touched up before your big day, this means the first appointment should be booked at minimum 12 weeks before your wedding day, so it will allow you 6 weeks to heal before you will need a touch-up, then another six weeks after your touch up for it to be 100% fully healed, and ready to go for your wedding day.
Following our aftercare procedures is a major part of the healing process for permanent makeup. After a permanent makeup treatment session, the area that was treated is full of micro-holes and the main objective you want to focus on is avoiding any color loss from the treatment area for the next 7 to 14 days.
Three major things occur when the healing process begins:
1. Color Oxidation
Color will appear quite dark and intense immediately after the treatment, it will begin to lighten over the next 5 to 14 days as healing progresses. There may appear to be color loss while the skin is healing; however, that is not the case, have patience and you will notice beautiful results soon enough.
2. Swelling
Swelling may occur after a permanent makeup session, the most beneficial thing you can do is help the wound heal by keeping it cool, not freezing! Using cool packs immediately after the treatment, apply on the area for around 15 minutes on, and 45 minutes off. You can continue this for around 4 to 5 hours after the permanent makeup treatment has been completed.
3. Scabbing
The scabbing process will start to occur, you will need to pat away any lymph fluids which look like clear oozy liquid, this will occur within the first few days after the treatment, you will want to prevent any large buildup of dried secretions that could form into a large thick scab.
Permanent makeup provides so many incredible benefits on its own, and it heightens when you are getting permanent makeup for your wedding or to attend a wedding. Not only does it enhance your appearance, but it can also add definition to your brows, or accentuate your eyes and provide a more sultry or bold look.
Your lips will be a showcase piece with a more defined and beautiful look. There are other methods that can be completed as well with permanent makeup like areola repigmentation and scar camouflage. All of which provide incredible benefits, and natural results.
During the procedure, the technician will ensure you have numbing cream applied so you feel little to no pain during the treatment process. You may feel pressure, and a slight scratching feeling but you should be mostly relaxed during your treatment.
After treatment, you should expect to feel itchy, notice a dry tightness occurring, mild swelling, and see light scabbing, along with the darker color of the permanent makeup until scabbing goes away and reveals the true color of the treated area.
